One Day at a Time
Anyone who's ever met Milton knows he's not one to complain... just the opposite, in fact. His usual response when asked is that everything's great, or "it could be a lot worse..."
He's not currently taking any medication, and doesn't think there are any drugs out there at the moment that would make much of a difference.
Thanks to the efforts of some of his close friends, a nurse comes in every morning and gives him a bath, gets him dressed, and makes sure everything is ok. This service is provided by Interim Home Health Care in Winter Park.
During the week, you'll generally find him on Orange Avenue, between Pine and Church, selling his soft drinks and water, and sharing his unique perspective on life. In the evenings he sometimes goes to the Amway arena when there's an event happening.
He gets back and forth between his house and downtown on the Lymmo bus, which has a ramp on the front door.
Wish List
Although he's generally happy with the way his life is going at the moment, he has mentioned that he would love to get some kind of regular exercise or physical therapy, to help with circulation, flexibility, and strength. Perhaps even aqua-therapy. If anyone reading this has any resources for such a service, please use the contact form to share any details you might have.
Milton considers himself a very lucky man. He often talks about how lucky he is to have so many good friends who look out for him, share their hard-earned money with him, and help him out when he needs it.
If you have anything you'd like to share with Milton, please send him a note. Your message will be delivered to him in confidence. |
